Within Ash and Stardust by Chani Lynn Feener

The third and final installment of The Xenith Trilogy left me frustrated and disappointed.

For a series that started out with such a fantastic premise, the ending felt rushed, underdeveloped, and ultimately fell flat. While reading this installment, I couldn't wait for it to be over.

Love triangles are usually fine with me, but this was overdone to the extreme. Every touch, glance, and thought felt contrived and forced, rather than a natural development of the plot or interactions between the characters.

Darn it!

Between Frost and Fury by Chani Lynn Feener

Sequel to Amid Stars and Darkness

Between Frost and Fury by Chani Lynn Feener

Summary: "Delaney finds herself kidnapped by aliens, at the center of a tense political battle between two alien kingdoms, and the attention of Trystan's romantic attentions. Just another day in the life of an ordinary human girl."

Well, darn. I had such high hopes for this sequel, but it didn't quite deliver. I wanted more drama, more intrigue, way more action and more well-loved tropes. I need Trystan to be more extreme, one way or the other.

I'll definitely read the next one though!

Amid the Stars and Darkness by Chani Lynn Feener

Summary: "Delaney's entire world is thrown into chaos after she is mistaken for Lissa Olena, an alien princess hiding out on Earth in order to escape an arranged marriage. Kidnapped by the princess's head bodyguard, Ruckus, and imprisoned in an alien palace, Delaney is forced to impersonate the princess until Olena can be found. If she fails, it will lead to an alien war and the eventual enslavement of the entire human race. No pressure or anything. Factor in Trystan--the princess's terrifying betrothed who is intent on unraveling all her secrets--and her own growing feelings for Ruckus, and Delaney is in way over her head."

The cover is beautiful.

The story is wonderful.

I couldn't put it down.

I can't wait for the next one to be published next July!
