Summary: "Kristen Peterson doesn't do drama, will fight to the death for her friends, and has no room in her life for guys who just don't get her. She's also keeping a big secret: facing a medically necessary procedure that will make it impossible for her to have children. Planning her best friend's wedding is bittersweet for Kristen--especially when she meets the best man, Josh Copeland. He's funny, sexy, never offended by her mile-wide streak of sarcasm and always one chicken enchilada ahead of her hangry. Even her dog, Stuntman Mike, adores him. The only catch: Josh wants a big family someday. Kristen knows he'd be better off with someone else, but as their attraction grows, it's harder and harder to keep him at arm's length."
Josh is one of my favorite romance heroes...ever! He's just a sweet, vulnerable, awesome teddy bear. I preferred Josh's POV chapters to Kristen's. And this story is probably not for everyone, but Josh's character makes up for its various issues.

Whatever Life Throws at You by Julie Cross
Summary: "Seventeen-year-old Annie Lucas is too young to remember her dad's glory days as a pitcher for the Yankees. So when her father is offered a coaching position with the Kansas City Royals, Annie is intrigued to see the baseball side of her dad. Of course, knowing he'll be a mentor to hot young rookie pitcher, Jason Brody, certainly makes it more enticing."

The Revolution of Ivy by Amy Engel
I love Engel's writing style. The characterization. I'm crying. Someone send help. Sacrificial love and mercy. People having inherent dignity due to the fact that they are human
All of the outdoors survival things.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I love Bishop.
I love all of my sweet babies. My baby boy.
It's about the found family, y'all.
Yes to non-toxic relationships *Opossum lady-Let's snap for Apple*
Yes to honesty and communication and working through issues; yes to fights where people say what they're feeling without attacking the other person. RELATIONSHIP GOALS. Someone call my best friend.
Where do I find myself a Bishop (I know where to find a Catholic bishop). I want a man of marriagable age, who is single and has the wonderfulness of Bishop Lattimer... I like a guy who knows how to hunt and can fix stuff and you know, treats me like a person....Is that too much to ask..
....That scene from the end of the Fox and the Hound.Yeah...that hurt.

House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
Bryce Quinlan had the perfect life—working hard all day and partying all night—until a demon murdered her closest friends, leaving her bereft, wounded, and alone. When the accused is behind bars but the crimes start up again, Bryce finds herself at the heart of the investigation. She’ll do whatever it takes to avenge their deaths.
Hunt Athalar is a notorious Fallen angel, now enslaved to the Archangels he once attempted to overthrow. With a demon wreaking havoc in the city, he’s offered an irresistible deal: help Bryce find the murderer, and his freedom will be within reach.
As Bryce and Hunt dig deep into Crescent City’s underbelly, they discover a dark power that threatens everything and everyone they hold dear, and they find a blazing passion—one that could set them both free, if they’d only let it.

More by Tessa Dare
After years of fending for herself, Kate Taylor found friendship and acceptance in Spindle Cove—but she never stopped yearning for love. The very last place she'd look for it is in the arms of Corporal Thorne. The militia commander is as stone cold as he is brutally handsome. But when mysterious strangers come searching for Kate, Thorne steps forward as her fiancĂ©. He claims to have only Kate's safety in mind. So why is there smoldering passion in his kiss?Pages: 374
On the cusp of her first London season, Miss Madeline Gracechurch was shyly pretty and talented with a drawing pencil, but hopelessly awkward with gentlemen. She was certain to be a dismal failure on the London marriage mart. So Maddie did what generations of shy, awkward young ladies have done: she invented a sweetheart. A Scottish sweetheart. One who was handsome and honorable and devoted to her, but conveniently never around. Maddie poured her heart into writing the imaginary Captain MacKenzie letter after letter … and by pretending to be devastated when he was (not really) killed in battle, she managed to avoid the pressures of London society entirely. Years later the real Captain Logan MacKenzie arrives on her doorstep—handsome as anything, but not entirely honorable. He’s wounded, jaded, in possession of her letters… and ready to make good on every promise Maddie never expected to keep.

I think it's because I'm very character oriented, and she doesn't think she needs to grow in anything.

"The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." It wasn't quoted in the book, but I was reminded of that, when Thomas talks about how the world likes to close its eyes to the evil present, because if you can't see it, it doesn't exist.
Thomas's sugar addiction makes me feel called out.

Y'all..... The classic fanfic trope that kills me every time it happens... It happened...
These dodos caring more about the well-being of the other.... Don't mind me; I'm just crying about sacrificial love...
The horse is the third wheel... or is Britta the thrid wheel? The world may never know.
Ok but the line where Britta thought about how she actually wanted people to like her, and that she was kind of lying to herself when she pretended that what people said about her didn't hurt....That hurt. I did not sign up to be attacked like this.
