We love Kellyn. So much.
Hey look. It's people communicating with each other about their anxiety and like...helping the other person to love them and stuff. Like healthy relationships. Imagine that. Communication.
I felt like the conflict was resolved too quickly, but I don't care because look at Kellyn

Blade of Secrets by Tricia Levenseller
Ok but the magic system and the characters and the fact that we have a character with crippling social anxiety...I'm just like... sfjkldfjklds
The characters are really funny--and I love seeing how they interact with each other, and I love the magic concept and I can't.
Kellyn is cool. No one is surprised.

Daughter of the Siren Queen by Tricia Levenseller
I love Riden. I love him so much. Can I keep him?Did I read this just for Riden and Alosa.... yes I did.
I loved learning more about everyone's pasts.
Mom. I love moms.
I love women growing into their powers and strengths.... send help. I love Riden. (literally the whole review could be me saying I love Riden).

Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller
I LOVE PIRATES. THE TROPE I LIVE FOR.....You can't just name a character Riden and expect me to sit here and do/say nothing...like...come on.

Finally some light light angst, cute soft boys, a sprinkle of enemies to lovers, and pirates and sirens, sfdjklsfdajklsfda;jkl I love a girl with a sword. Also just Riden.... my clever boy.. My stupid clever boy.

It's a nice break from all of the painful super angsty fiction I've been reading. Like no saving the world right now, just a fun adventure. It's good to not be in too much pain for once. I have found my YA fiction landfill and I am living in it. Just let me bliss out on this wonderful easy read.

The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller
Soooooo that was spicier than I expected (like not scene-wise)....Slytherin main characters..... They're great.
Kallias.....sigh. I love his powers, and I love the mythology of the world. I still want to Gibbs slap him.
Enemies to lovers.
Characters who are able to be themselves around each other. I live for characters accepting each other for their "flaws" and quirks.

Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller
Summary: "Sent on a mission to retrieve an ancient hidden map, the key to a legendary treasure trove, pirate captain Alosa deliberately allows herself to be captured by her enemies. Now the only thing standing between her and the map: her captor, the unexpectedly clever and unfairly attractive first mate Riden."
Um, can I have the next book right now...please?!
Daughter of the Pirate King is exactly the kind of book I would have loved in high school. The adventures are grand and the love-hate main relationship is charming and swoon-worthy. I liked the fast-paced plot and pirate-lore. For once, I actually was craving a little more backstory and world-building, which is very unusual for me.
The ending is incomplete which leaves me hungry for the next book!
