Ahhh Missouri.... yes humidity..but her writing makes me want to actually go outside. All of the outdoors summer things.
Finally some good freaking Missouri content. YA content, fanfic tropes. AHHHHHH

I love that we're talking about difficult topics that are real to life and different ways to come at the problem. AGH SHE'S INSPIRING MY WRITING.
I love my beautiful baby Bishop. He looks like a cinnamon roll and could actually kill you...but he's also a cinnamon roll.
I will go down with this ship.

How I was expecting Bishop to react:

I can't believe there's fanart... God is real. I just have a lot of feelings and I don't know how to talk about them. I need to own a physical copy of this book. I'm fine I'm fine I'm fine. Just all of the Bishop. Just leave it at that. Bishop and Ivy.

Hawksong by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

However, they each know nothing but hatred and revenge in their hearts for the other side...can they find a way to work together to bring peace? Can hawks and cobras ever get along? I actually read this book many years ago, and I re-read it again this past week. It's such a great story and fast read. One of my favorites. 

I'm not sure if this book counts as an animal POV, even though all of the characters are shape shifters. Danica has a demi-form as a human with wings, and she can also fully shape-shift into a hawk. Zane can shape-shift into a cobra. The other characters can shift into various birds (raven, sparrow, etc) or snakes (viper, python, etc).

"I Am Nujood, Age 10 and Divorced" by Nujood Ali with Delphine Minoui

This is the autobiography of the youngest person ever granted a divorce.  Nujood and her impoverished family live in Yemen where arranged marriages for girls are the norm, but she fights back by leaving her abusive, much older husband and obtaining help for a divorce.  Nujood's family does not even know the birthdays or true ages of their children.  She's been told that she's about 10, but her father tries to use this against her by saying that she's really 13 when she begins divorce proceedings (as if being forced to marry at 13 is acceptable).  Luckily, Nujood finds a sympathetic female attorney as well as caring judges who help her obtain her divorce.  Her groundbreaking fight has encouraged other girls in arranged marriages to try to get their own lives back by leaving their husbands.  This part of the world and their customs are so foreign to me that it seems like a different planet populated by evil aliens who prey on the young and all females.  Amazingly, all of this happened just three years ago.  183 pages.
