Blood Promise by Richelle Mead

....Did I think that Siberia was a country......no....that would be ridiculous.....
Lyssa's been irritating me, but I have to remind myself that she's a teenager who's lived a life relative priviledge.
Grandma Dimitri is my favorite, and I love her. Filling bags with bricks like a queen
When they're talking about family and loving brother shows up.
Dimitri:

Honestly I feel like I should have picked up on the dad thing.
I make one joke about Rose and Dimitri being Rose and Jack because I thought it would be funny....
....Can we not shame people.....like.....

After Dead: What Came Next in the World of Sookie Stackhouse (Sookie Stackhouse #13.5)

After Dead: What Came Next in the World of Sookie Stackhouse (Sookie Stackhouse #13.7) by Charlaine Harris

Pages: 195

Rating: 4 out of 5

Charlaine Harris acknowledges that you can't tie up every character's story in the "world" of a book series, in the last book. To satisfy fans curiosity about other characters in the series, she created this coda. Characters are listed alphabetically from the Ancient Pythoness to Bethany Zanelli and each have a short synopsis of their life after book 13.

The book also features extensive interior art by acclaimed artist Lisa Desimini, including a Sookieverse Alphabet, color endpapers, and several full-page black and white interior illustrations.

Dead Ever After (Sookie Stackhouse #13)

Dead Ever After (Sookie Stackhouse #13) by Charlaine Harris

Pages: 352

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

This is the last novel in the Sookie Stackhouse series and Harris returns to her writing roots, with the main storyline being a murder mystery. Sookie is arrested for the murder of a former friend, Arlene. Investigating the murder, Sookie learns some painful truths including the depth of her relationship with Eric, vampire sheriff of the area, as well as who her true friends are, both human, shifter and vampire.

Deadlocked (Sookie Stackhouse #12)

Deadlocked (Sookie Stackhouse #12) by Charlaine Harris

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Dating a vampire has always been complicated, but now that Eric's King, Felipe de Castro, is in town, life has gotten even more complicated for Sookie. There are things going on that she'd rather not know about, but other things she needs explained, just to understand what is going on. Ignorance is bliss, may be true for some people, but for a human, caught up in the politics of the vampire world, it can be deadly.

The Vampire's Mail Order Bride- 370 pages
This is a cute, fun little town full of interesting characters. On the run from her mob boss in New York she ends up hiding out in Nocturne Falls and marrying a vampire. Funny and entertaining.

The Werewolf Meets His Match- 356 pages
Biker werewolf chicks. 'Nuff said LOL

The Gargoyle Gets His Girl- 356 pages
In this story a gargoyle meets and falls for a fae who has run away from the Fairy kingdom and is living in Nocturne Falls. She mistakenly enslaves him and he falls for her charms.

The Professor Woos the Witch- 370 pages
I liked this story of a witch with broken powers and a shifter who doesn't realize what he is. When his daughter runs away and meets up with a witch chaos ensues.  It includes an obese cat on a diet! Funny and quirky.

From Dead to Worse (Sookie Stackhouse #8)

From Dead to Worse (Sookie Stackhouse #8) by Charlaine Harris

Pages: 368

Rating: 3 out of 5

Picking up immediately where book 7 left off. Sookie is shaken by the effects of Hurricane Katrina followed closely by the manmade explosion at the regional vampire summit. Everyone in Louisiana and the surrounding states are feeling stressed and that there is a power shift underway. Adding to Sookie's personal stress, her boyfriend, Quinn has disappeared. Once again she wishes she could just be a waitress at Merlotte's and have an ordinary, boring life. But as a Friend to the Pack and being blood-bonded to a vampire Sookie is hardly ordinary. Trying to avoid all politics, human, vampire and werewolf completely doesn't work out and she is drawn into the changes all around her.

Midnight Crossroad (Midnight, Texas #1)

 Midnight Crossroad (Midnight, Texas #1)

by Charlaine Harris

Pages: 305

Stars: 5 out of 5 stars

A fun read from the creator of the Sookie Stackhouse series, Aurora Teagarden series and other supernatural mysteries. Midnight, Texas is a very small town with the few businesses lining Davy Road and situated at the crossing of Witch Light Road. It is a small, old, western town. But newcomer, Manfred Bernardo is happy with the quiet location and the locals who keep mostly to themselves. There's a small diner and a gas station but you have to drive into Davy to find a grocery store and most other services.

Everything starts out quiet and friendly enough, but a gathering for a picnic just outside of town reveals a murder. Now the county sheriff and other out of town people are snooping around and the local residents do not appreciate any digging into their past. They all have something to hide, but who is a murderer?
