Kiss the Girl by Zoraida Cordova

Kiss the Girl by Zoraida Cordova

Ariel del Mar and her sisters, collectively known as Siren Seven, are famous worldwide. Ariel has known little but life on the stage, in her iconic red wig and bright sequins. But as Siren Seven wraps up their final tour, Ariel finds she wants more. Her father, Teo del Mar, has other plans for her: a solo career, to be announced the next day on a morning talk show.

Longing for a normal life, Ariel and her sisters sneak out for a night at a rock concert in Brooklyn. Ariel literally bumps into Eric Reyes, the handsome lead singer of a promising band. She dreams of being part of his world and experiencing his band's upcoming tour from an entirely different perspective. When Eric spontaneously invites her to join them, she jumps at the chance and finds her voice along the way.

Kiss the Girl by Zoraida Cordova

Summary: "Ariel del Mar is one of the most famous singers in the world. Anyone would think she’s the girl who has everything.

But lately, she wants more. Ariel and her sisters sneak out of their Manhattan penthouse for a night of incognito fun at a rock concert in Brooklyn. It’s there that Ariel crosses paths with Eric Reyes, dreamy lead singer of an up-and-coming band. Unaware of her true identity, Eric spontaneously invites her on the road for the summer. And for the first time in her life, Ariel disobeys her father—and goes with him.

Caught between the world she longs for and the one she’s left behind, can Ariel follow her dreams, fall in love, and, somehow, find her own voice?"

The setting, the descriptions, the re-telling of The Little Mermaid was all done really well. Some of the chapters were swoon-worthy toward the end.

(I just wish the plot had a little bit more intrigue and action.)
