So there are so many quotes in this book that just like  jksfdslajfla;jlj;dsf my heart and my brain. I love the writing style. 
Iconic.
The world building. The food. I love food.
The sass; the snark; and the dramatic boys.
I love angsty boys who see themselves as monsters, and girls who fall in love with them.....I love enemies to lovers.....stop staring at me..
I loved the system of magic in this world! The way that it works as a whole, and how it works for and with each individual person
Give me all the metaphors about darkness and evil and love and memory and pain. This is what I live for.
Also I love me an emo angsty boy with tattoos and tortured souls.
Zafira. So fierce. She could step on me and I would thank her.
Nasir and all his brooding and darkness.
Also the importance of names...like y'all....
I loved the plot and all of the Beauty and the Beast vibes it gave off....like.... I'm crying. Like.... all of the iconic scenes y'all.

Ok but the Elphaba and Nessa vibes....
I stan characters who see themselves as cruel monsters who are irredeemable. Characters who see themselves as nothing more than a sacrifice. Characters who don't inherently hate themselves, but they don't like themselves...And I stan broken characters being broken together and accepting each others flaws rather than forcing each other to change. Characters who don't idealize themselves or the people around them.
I love Beauty and the Beast...like I just... I'm fine.
I love Shade.
I live for sassy snarky relationships that are kind of problematic... They're quotable.... Two cons trying to con each other. What a beautiful dance.

It was so enjoyable to revisit this one, knowing how it all ends up. It's a thrilling world with extremely lovable, misfit characters. And I think the best part is that I love books 2 & 3 far better than book one, so I can't wait to move forward to those.

Wow! This was the BEST retelling of Beauty and the Beast that I’ve read to date. Now, I know you’re thinking, how many could she have possibly read? Well, I can think of 6 other YA retellings of Beauty and the Beast that I have read in the past few years, some of which were also very good, but none that topped this one.

I’m now going to look up everything Kemmerer has ever written and give it a try, as this was pure magic. It was just spot on from start to finish. It took me through the full range of emotions. The world building was superb. The character development was excellent. The plot was fast paced and exciting. I loved the blending of the two different dimensions. There was just so much to love with this one.

The MC has cerebral palsy, and she was so kickass. She just tackled things with so much courage and conviction, and she didn’t take shit from anyone. She also didn’t tell herself she couldn’t do things, just because she had a limp. I absolutely adored her. She was so strong but also always true to herself and her own feelings and ideas.

I will definitely reread this one, probably many times. In fast, I think I’m headed over to Audible to see if I can pre-order a copy right now.

This is ridiculously delightful, especially for a librarian who grew up watching Beauty & the Beast. Belle puts all her money into trying to save her library, until a disagreement with her father leaves her homeless and sleeping in the library.

Intro Beast. He's gruff. He's bossy. He's mysterious, and he loves books. Mix that together with some ridiculous shenanigans by the gals of the Naughty Princess club, and this book is as hilarious and unexpected as book one.

Tara Sivec is a wizard with characterization. She has such dynamic characters, and they never cross that borderline into feeling like caricatures. I'd pretty much read anything about these 3 women, even if there was no real plot.
