Jangles a BIG Fish Story by David Shannon

The narrator’s father tells him a tall tale about a big, big fish. Big enough to eat full-grown eagles and beavers – but gentle enough to rescue a baby who falls into the lake.

There are tournaments geared toward one thing – catching Jangles. The fishers use whole turkeys as bait!

Then one day, the father falls into the lake, and Jangles leads him to his cave in the depths of the lake, and tells him tales of wonder.  Then father catches Jangles, or so he says.   Jangles ask to be let go, but father says no one will believe he caught him. Jangles say,” Is that more important than doing what is right?”

A question for us all to ponder.
