"The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." It wasn't quoted in the book, but I was reminded of that, when Thomas talks about how the world likes to close its eyes to the evil present, because if you can't see it, it doesn't exist.
Thomas's sugar addiction makes me feel called out.
