I admit, I have always preferred Jane Marple to Christie's Hercule Poirot, but I make an exception for After the Funeral. The family is gathered after the funeral of the patriarch, Richard Abernethie, for the reading of the will. His sister, Cora, utters the infamous words: "But he was murdered, wasn't he?" Suddenly the unspeakable has been spoken and the adventure begins! A good, classic mystery told by a master that will keep you guessing to the end. 286 pages.
