Daddy's Gone Ahunting by Mary Higgins Clark

Kate Connelly has been injured in an explosion at her family's furniture factory and museum. She and retired factory worker Gus Schmitt, who was killed in the explosion, went into the factory at 4:30 a.m. No one knows why they were there, and they are suspected of setting the explosion to get the insurance payout of $20 million dollars. Kate is in a coma, so cannot tell anyone why she was there.

When clearing off the property after the fire, workers find a skeleton, which turns out to be that of a young women who disappeared without a trace 28 years before. Also found was the notebook of a young woman murdered 2 years prior to the fire.

This is a book chock-full of plots, subplots, multiple characters, and a satisfying but surprising conclusion.
