Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan
It's a little disorientating for Percy Jackson to discover he's a demigod (the son of a mortal and Greek god or goddess) after his math teacher, a Fury in disguise, attempts to kill him. He is sent to Camp Half-Blood with the other demigods to train with the wise centaur Chiron and a sullen Dionysus, who has angered Zeus. When he discovers the existence of a prophecy which presumably involves him, Percy and his friends embark on several quests to save Olympus.
