Mockingjay / Suzanne Collins

The third entry in The Hunger Games trilogy, Mockingjay does not disappoint in the action-packed narrative (after a bit of a slow start), but I found it the least satisfying of the three. The emotional engagement of the three main characters is all but over and Katniss is so tired it is amazing that she manages to survive the fighting. She does, and "retires" to a life where the Hunger Games seem relegated to a closed book, when all along she seemed destined for a greater role in the new world. 400 p.
