Beware, SPOILERS!!!
Sutter Keely is cool…and self-absorbed…and troubled…and this
novel, told from his POV, is frustrating.
He alienates his friends as he spirals into a serious drinking problem,
he makes a sweet, geeky girl fall in love with him and then runs from her,
telling himself he’s a hero and did it for her sake. Then the novel just ends.
I found myself alternating between feeling sorry for Sutter
and loathing him. Is this what Tharp
intended?
