Austin and Thatch both went into their relationship at first not wanting much out of it. They both start to fall for each other, however, Austin finds Thatch making out with her best friend's sister. As the story moves forward Thatch and Austin try to get back at each other playing pranks on each other. Austin needs to use Thatch to help her out with a school project, during that time they both begin to realize they still have feelings for each other. It is also clear that Thatch made out with the other women for his own reasons to save Austin to some truth that will hurt her.
